New Shooter
Dundee Practical Shooters is an organization of private individual volunteers hosting pistol competitions for the enjoyment of USPSA members. Whether you just purchased your first handgun or you've owned one for years but never competed, you are welcome to join us!
Before Match Day
- Contact the match coordinators and let us know you are coming, give a brief overview of your previous experience, and let us know if you have any specific questions.
- Read the New Shooter Information from Columbia Cascade. This covers the rules you'll need to follow, the equipment you'll need, and the general protocols. Being familiar with this material ahead of time will make the day go better for you and your fellow shooters. If you have any questions, feel free to ask via email.
Important Rules
- Dundee Practical Shooters strictly follow all USPSA rules as published by USPSA
- Read and understand the Safety Rules in sections 2.4, 10.4, and 10.5
Match Day
- When you arrive on the range, go to the registration table (stat shack) near bay 4. Please arrive before 8:00 AM and attend the New Shooter Orientation. If you're not sure where to go, check in with any volunteer.
- You have two main objectives: prove to yourself that you can shoot safely while following the course descriptions, and prove to those around you that you are safe and competent handling firearms. Don't go too fast, listen to your Range Safety Officers, and have a good time. We're looking forward to seeing you at our match.
What to Bring
- At least 200 rounds of ammunition — we rarely go that high but it's best to be prepared
- A holster that retains your firearm securely
- At least 3 magazines or speed loaders
- Eye and ear protection
- $20 entry fee ($10 for juniors)
